New Year's Resolutions |
 |
How was 2011 for you? That's the question we asked bridal retailers around the country and we received wide-ranging responses. Given the state of the economy, not just in the UK but in the rest of Europe, it's heartening to see that many boutiques are not just surviving but are thriving. Some are moving into larger premises, others are diversifying into new sectors of the market, while many more are consolidating their existing offering to ensure they are providing their brides with the very best customer service.
There's no doubt that the union of Prince William and Kate Middleton gave many bridal retailers a boost in 2011, and 2012 is set to be another big year for Britain. Not only will we be celebrating The Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June, but we'll also be hosting the Olympics this summer. The world-wide attention these two events will generate is sure to have a positive impact on British manufacturers. Therefore, we've decided to spotlight some talented bridal names that design and manufacture right here in the UK, including Chanticleer and Alan Hannah.
Also in this issue we take a look at the rapidly growing market for prom wear, which has captivated British girls ever since this phenomenon crossed the Atlantic. Leading suppliers talk trends, and we showcase the hottest looks for the coming year.
Finally, we have some excellent advice from our experts including how to insure your business against the risk of flooding, preventing intellectual property theft in the workplace and how to maximise your presence on social networking platforms.
